Christmas is over rated but;
• Vegetarian fajitas are actually as good as normal fajitas, which of course should be the new official Christmas dinner. True story.
• Black Swan is probably one of or indeed the best film of the year.
• I prefer giving gifts than receiving. Although I was spoiled this year.
• How have I gone this long without seeing How I Met Your Mother?!
• I kinda look like Bane in my new coat.

I'm not quite Warren Buffet yet...
So I set up a loan to Brakasu Alhassan in Ghana.
Thanks to me and 9 other Kiva Lenders, the $250.00 loan request has been 100% funded.
This loan will be used for the purpose of: to purchase fish and bags of rice and beans for waakye preparation.
It makes me feel worthwhile if I can help those who need it.

The totally baffling idea of a flat tax
Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, and Herman Cain have all put out a flat tax plan of one sort or another. If you want to see what this will mean for you, here are the savings you can expect organized by economic quintile:
As you can see, if you are not rich, don’t expect much. But if you are rich, you will be rolling in it. Now usually I would just note that Americans already pay flat taxes if...

How Freedom Became Tyranny →
Rightwing libertarians have turned “freedom” into an excuse for greed and exploitation.
By George Monbiot, published in the Guardian 20th December 2011
Freedom: who could object? Yet this word is now used to justify a thousand forms of exploitation. Throughout the rightwing press and blogosphere, among thinktanks and governments, the word excuses every assault on the lives of the poor,...

cheatsheet:
Astronomer and author Carl Sagan passed away on this day 15 years ago. In his honor, here’s one of my favorite videos on the Internet, which features Sagan reading from his 1994 book Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space, art and animation by Adam Winnik, and music by Hans Zimmer (“You’re So Cool”).

Anonymous asked: I find you incredibly attractive looking at your profile picture, and even when you dislike some of the things I love. Harry Potter really? regardless, I dislike most of the others also :)

Christopher Hitchens on life, death and lobster
Christopher Hitchens - essayist, drinker, smoker, atheist and freedom of speech campaigner - has died.
Christopher Hitchens: 1949-2011
He led a picaresque, bohemian life of intellectual enquiry, literary criticism and many long lunches and late nights.
Contrariness and controversy were never far away.
He began his journalistic career firmly on the left but in ...

Watch as my heart sings once again in the pouring rain. Keep a close eye sweetheart it turns out my heart sinks as it sings. My word boy you’re just a fool trying to convince the world you’re not a fool. I continue with an addiction, you hurt me in more ways than my doctor can tell me. My brain is drowning inside water. My good man you need to stop with this foolishness, watching...

moves.
There are days you just want to fuck everything that moves.
Then there are other days you just want to hug everything that moves.
In-between those days you just want to cry until it no longer moves.
The other day you wanted to watch her as she moves.
The next day you want to trap that fleeting feeling as it moves.
Yesterday you step in to the shower as the spider in the corner moves.

(Lacking) Reality TV.
That’s what television is used for, to distract people from realising how badly they are getting fucked in the ass by the top 1%. - George Carlin.
We have people in this country who go into work and spend more time discussing and worrying over X-Factor than the state of the society around them.
“Oh but it’s entertainment” I hear you cry.
You’re entertained?
